Keeping the culture alive

#MMIWP

The lack of statistics regarding MMIWP is due to a system which doesn’t work for Native Americans and hurts Native American women, children, 2-Spirit, Trans and men’s lives most of all. This system is overt & subvert in its means of destruction.

This is a story of Yanaguana, and the Pīlam Tāp Taī Project (People of the Earth Mother)

American Indians in Texas at the Spanish Colonial Missions

The Mission of the American Indians in Texas at the Spanish Colonial Missions is to work for the preservation and protection of the culture and traditions of the Tap Pilam Coahuiltecan Nation and other indigenous people of the Spanish Colonial Missions in South Texas and Northern Mexico through: education, research, community outreach, economic development projects and legislative initiatives at the federal, state and local levels.

The growing movement for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and People, which desires to bring to the forefront awareness of the terrible violence experienced by Native American women and people, doesn’t receive mainstream acknowledgement and even worse, the lack of statistics caters to the erasure of this severely damaging epidemic. Many people in our communities, our colleagues, and families have become survivors of this violence as well as escaped other very traumatic environments.

American Indians in Texas at the Spanish Colonial Missions has decided to join with the movement to bring awareness and calls for direct action in Yananguana (San Antonio, Tx).

By purchasing any of our Pīlam Tāp Taī products, your contributions will directly support our mission.

If you would like to help keep this work alive, please consider making a donation today or shopping our new online store.

Shoutout to Miguel Lopez who was a critical contributor to kickstarting this effort.

Areas of Focus

The work of AITSCM is revolutionary liberation and is inexorably tied to our solidarity and the empowerment and vocalization of those most victimized.
